This very rare book set of Schmidt's Handfeuerwaffen showcases early model firearms with colored prints. It is a must-have for any serious firearms collector or military history enthusiast. The hardcover books are in German language and consist of a 1st edition with illustrated pages. The set was published by Schwabe in 1875 and includes the very rare 1878 supplement as well making it a true original and a valuable piece for any antiquarian and collectible book collector. Only 1 other complete copy known to exist in the US. The 1875 Book is bound in the original linen binding with corners bumped, rubbed with some pages lightly foxed. Contains over 300 individual pictures on 56 pages of color engravings. The 1878 Supplement is bound in contemporary half calf red Morocco, slightly rubbed - otherwise very good condition.

Contains the original 56 pages plus the additional 20 pages of colored engravings.
